Engine Number vs V5C

Featured Replies

Just trying to check the Engine Number on my V5C against the car itself (a Fabia Estate).

After searching on here, it seems that the Engine Number on the engine itself isn't accessible without taking the engine to bits, but there's a sticker on the cambelt cover (which I've found OK)

The V5C has a number like:

AXR nnnnnnATD

The sticker has a number like:

AXR nnnnnn

The first bit matches, and the nnnnnn bit is the same, but is the "ATD" bit at the end correct on the V5C?

I thought ATD was the old, pre-Euro4, PD100 engine - should it be there?

Could well be a typo on the document. You are right, ATD is a PD100.

Thanks Stu - although my AXR is (as I understand it) a PD100 too.

I wondered if the AXR was a variant within a wider "ATD group" (or something) and that was why the ATD was at the end of the code?

What do other people's V5Cs say?

AXR is the replacment Euro compliant PD100.
