HAVE HAD MY CAR REMAPPED 4 MONTHS AGO AND NOW HAVE A COUPLE OF PROBLEMS.

I HAVE UNRATED MY;

1. INTERCOOLER TO FRONT MOUNTED ABD.

2. BIGGER AIR INTAKE PIPE TO TURBO.

3. INDUCTION KIT (PIPERCROSS VIPER).

4. FULL BLUEFLAME EXHAUST SYSTEM. (INC. CAT).

IM NOW RUNNING 256BHP AND 259FT/LB, AND NOW KEEP GETTING MY ENGINE MANGEMENT LIGHT COME ON WITH A COOLING ERROR EVERY COUPLE OF WEEKS. ANY IDEAS? :confused:

PLUS, WHEN I HAD IT DONE 1ST DONE IT HELD BOOST AT 1.5 BAR, AND IS HITTING 1.5 BUT SLOWLY DECREASES THROUGH THE REV RANGE. DO YOU THINK THIS COULD BE DUE TO A WEAK ACTUATER?? :confused:

Who mapped it?

1.5 bar (21.75 psi) is right on the limits of that turbo mate, their is no way the ko3s will sustain that boost pressure all the way up the rev range.

What do you mean by cooling error? And do you know whether or not the dual temperature sender been replaced with the later modified one?

256 BHP ?????, I assume this is a Mk1 Octy vRS, can I please ask who mapped it?????

Do you have a graph to show these figures, as a KO3s runs out of breath before then?????

Also, as Steve has said, your at the very top of the boost, and to see a KO3s boost plot holding those figures right to the end would be very interesting.

reddot racing mapped the car, they too were very surprised at the output. The car was running 1.5 bar happily but after a few weeks crept upto 1.7! I am assumuing that this rises due to the actuator not being able to handle the boost?

I have now fitted a boost controller to stop the boost hitting 1.7.

Also the modified temp sender mentioned, What is the part number so i can check if i have the updated version?

1.7 (24.7 psi) with a ko3s, that little turbo will blow itself into little pieces if your readings are correct. Stupidly high boost readings do not always equate to high performance, or a useable power delivery....that must bo sooooo spikey. If the remap isn't very sophisticated it may well be over boosting ($hagged N75 perhaps) and not pulling the boost back in time to save the turbo going bang?

I almost feel short changed with my IHI now.....;)
