Another NW Meet Discussion (C&F'esqe)

Featured Replies

Whilst attending the WSM Meet the C&F Meet came up on a number of ocassions and a number of other comments complaining about how we don't have enough meets in the North West

Will has already started a "When's the next C&F Thread" so it looks like that will be taken care of by Rob himself ;)

I'm proposing another similar sort of meet... there are loads of country pubs up my way with lots of twisty country roads for us to explore.

I'm looking at late January for the meet to take place... despending on peoples preferences etc.

At one of the following locations:

The Running Horses, Lydiate

The Scotch Piper Inn, Lydiate

Both pubs are within short distance of the M57 and M58... and have country roads galore :)

Any comments or suggestions welcome :D

Basic Schedule

Meet at chosen pub

Go for a brief drive before lunch

Lunch at the pub

Another drive

Arrive back at pub for drinks/talk

Trip down to Southport to go on the arcades... or the fair if it's open ;)

Finish back at the pub

This is all open for revision btw :)

Sounds good. Would probably be on for this :)

I shall watch with interest :)

Sounds good in principle

Steve

sounds like a plan, I would be up for this :)

yep i would be up for this, everyone needs introducing to the mighty evo slayer fabia:D

I've met it already, and its mighty PD160 intake ;)

Ive met the evo slayer too :D

I must say theres something not right about a standard car that produces as much tourque as a mapped one  Ill just blame my slipping clutch :D

Lets see how it performs on the the road :):D

Only just noticed this thread. Nice and local to me as I work in southport and live just of the M57.

As for "drives" around the area. Can only really think more of "quick blasts" than drives.

well she slayed the jap crap at trax, and that was without the rear arb and 312's on,depending on when this is,her next public outing could see the inclusion of kw cup suspesion, smf, spec stage 3 clutch and peloquin lsd, maybe a fmic, custom made exhaust and turbo conversion, and if i have enough cash the injectors will be done too:D

Sounds like an upgraded turbo will be on the list soon :)

its allready there, but yep it is,sorting the rest out before i touch the engine tho:D

So how do you slay 'jap crap' in a Fabia diesel?

having owned skylines, scooby's mitsubishi's never a honda tho,i think i am perfectly placed to say they are crap, very fast crap in the right hands but still crap, buy one and you will see what i mean. The driving is only a small part of ownership:thumbup:

sorry miss read your post,at trax this year briskoda were on with the uk ultimate jap car club, modded evo's skylines and the like,i slayed them in a next to standard fabia oilburner, hence my car is now called tes,the evo slayer.

There drivers wern't as modded as tes's tho:thumbup:

How do you define 'crap' though.

hey i used the term jap crap very loosley,in a joking way,the fabia is a better all rounder than the afore mentioned jap cars, and tbh if i had never got my points i would still have the skyline, and when they come off i will be getting another, interiors are crap, they sup alot of petrol, and they arn't that comfortable, practical and mine with 400bhp and a track biased set up wasn't that good on the road either,i think the driving expierience in these cars as standard is over rated, and its only when you start messing with them they start to live up to the hype, the expense of owning one is unbelievable, and with a decent driver in a standard fabia will humiliate an average driver in his jap crap:thumbup:

and of course there's always cleeves Hill for the view ;)

Our route to work. :D
