Alarm

Featured Replies

Looking for some advice - thinking of investing in an alarm for my car, and I know Skoda do a kit designed for the Fabia - I have a part number of BKA 400 002. Does anyone have access to a parts price list to let me know how much this would be to buy?

2nd question - how much should I expect to pay for a dealer / independent specialist to fit it?

Just trying to work out if the whole idea is financially viable. Also, trying to weigh up how much money it would be likely to take off my insurance premiums, as this would presumably help to offset the cost.

Any advice much appreciated.

best route would be to not use the factory system, its very expensive for what it is. Get a sigma or clifford one, they are cheaper and better. But dont expect much, if any reduction off your insurance policy. Nowadays they tend to be for piece of mind.

I just got a genuine Skoda Fabia alarm brand new in its box for £45 (including postage) on eBay. So, as to my original question - how much should I expect to pay for fitting? Either at a dealer or at an independent alarm fitter?

Dealers want £180 + VAT just to fit it! Cheeky ******** (Mitchells, West Kirby). I'll be going to an independent alarm specialist, methinks.
