Grounding out over speed humps

Featured Replies

Hi

I've had the mk2 vrs Octy with 18" alloys car since March with no issues, but yesterday and today I've touched something down going over speed humps really slowly.

Yesterday I had two adults in the car and this afternoon two of my kids.

Does any one elses do this, could there be a reason it's just started and does anyone know what tends to touch down first and if so is it a big problem?

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

First obvious question; have you looked under the car? Nothing loose?

I managed to gound the rear bumper on mine, the lovwe black part right at the bottom, scraped it reversing up a track with quite a bit of weight in the back.

Best thing to do is what gillywibble says, look under the car for the lowest part and check for evidence of contact with the road.

Be careful of high-ish kerbs and parking head on. Found two locations recently where the front spoiler just grazed the kerb.

I have just had my claim from the highways department agreed for the very same thing.
