I've heard there can be problems remapping the 170php deisel engine in the newr vRS Octavia. The problem is with the particulate filter which is prone to blocking with gains of more than 25bhp. Has anyone encountered this problem or heard of it from other tuners??

At least one well respected VAG tuner won't look at the PD170 for that reason :(:(

There are PD170 owners that have successfully had their cars mapped but it's like all things, you get what you pay for!.

I know of at least one PD170 that has been successfully mapped without issues from Superchips which ran very well on a rolling road day back in the summer, details here although it aint cheap at £599!.

My other half has a 170 Leon FR. I was looking into a remap for that but have heard they have a tendency to set on fire.

Strangely enough have decided to put it on hold!
