i have a fabia 1.4 8v classic which resently has developed another point to my to - do list.

when the steering is turned on full lock to the left (and only the left) there is a noise.

is this the steering rack??!!!!!!

if it is, will it be expensive to fix??

Could be the front anti roll bar that has moved over, look for signs of contact on the sub frame, certainly cheaper than a rack.

Mine does this all the time since I fitted the Eibach springs. They came with little alloy rings to fit to limit the lock for this purpose but no instructions on where exactly to put the blessed things......

Is it a clunk or a whine when a full lock?

Mine whines at the extremeties but this is just the powersteering servos.

If it's a whine then it's the power steering, my VRs has always done this.
