Anyone got a pair of these:

Would you recommend them? Do they stay put if you wind the windows down when travelling?

I've got the similar ones in my estate (back windows, portholes and rear screen) but from OEShades.com

Very good, can put windows down with them still, held in with two simple clips. OEShades slightly cheaper than Skoda. Can email you pics if you're interested.

Dont own them but have seen them and they do look very good (almost like 'tints' from the outside), gets a  from me.

Do you have a link? I tried www.oeshades.com but no joy.

Sorry missed the 'sun' out  Try OE Sunshades Ltd | www.oesunshades.com

How easy is it to see out of them? They look like they might be a bit more obtrusive than the Skoda ones.

Too be fair, I don't think the website does them justice - it's a very 'dark' website so they do appear to be obtrusive.

Personally, I don't have a problem with them - you can see better out of them when inside the car and no so from the outside. Guess that's the idea tho? They let in good light at night, no problems with rear screen vision.

I couldn't get sunset glass put on - lease car, standard only, so was looking at options that could be removed easily. This was the best in terms of looks and protection but obviously at a price. All six blinds (the rear screen is in 2 pieces) cost c£150 - but still £50 better than the Skoda ones. Haven't seen the Skoda ones so can't comment on the quality.

OESunshades fitted mine for me - they are in mansfield (15 mins from work for me) and they make for a lot of manufacturers inc GM, Jaguar and some others.

I've ordered a set from OESunshades. £135 delivered for the hatch (which is actually slightly more than Skoda). Sounds like good stuff though.

Good stuff  Dead easy to fit - let me know what you think when you get them.

I've got the Skoda ones fitted which are quite good, as Steve says they give the look of tinted windows.

and the good thing is you dont have to pay extra insurance for "tints"

has anyone got them in an estate? whats the back screen coverage like and does it remove easily

see previous post - the rear blind in my estate is 2 piece. OESunshades say they do this to keep them taught over time - in their experience a single piece blind over such a large area would sag.

The blind itself it held in with 4 clips (2 for each section) and then both clipped together. They are simply lifted out and only 2 clips remain in the window trim.

Only downside is the strip down the middle where they clip together but it doesn't really alter the rear view.

thanks coops, missed your post about the estate. Have you got any pics of the two panel rear you can put up as the black line a bit odd looking

ok will try and nip out in a bit when it stops raining !:(

Looking at the photo on Skoda Accessories I've made those by mysef. Got two big rear windshield roll-in sunshades (8 euros each - chineese product) and flexible galvanised wire on local hardware shop (2 euros). Then got 2cm wide cotton tape (not more then 3 euros). I've made clips cutting the piece of thin. I have 3 clips for each piece.

It was simple to make them. I've cut the shapes in thick paper, tested them with clips, then cut them in those big rear sunblinds, sewed bent cotton tape arround and passed the wire through the tape on the end. All together 2 hours of work (slowly, no rush). When you look at them you wouldn't say the are handmade. My salesman saw me few days ago while parking my car and said I have finaly decided to buy those rear sunblinds. He was laughing saying that he knew I would spend money on them. I said I've done them by myself and he looked at them and couldn't believe.

My point is:

I've spent arround 20 euros to make them exactely the same as Skoda's. I know not everybody would be able to do it, but if you cut the shapes in paper and buy those cheap rear sunblinds in supermarket and wire, you can take all together to your local tailor and still save a lot of money.

They will stay always on my rear windows and here are my reasons:

1) Tinting is more expensive and in Portugal it's forbiden unless you make changes in your registration documents.

2) South of Portugal has more then 320 sunny days a year so it protects interior and keep car cool not only when parked but while driving as well.

3) You can see very well inside-out but almost nothing outside-in.

While on, you don't want someone to open rear windows, so i've switched off rear windows controll buttons beacuse I dont want to see them flying off (same apply for Skoda ones). If driving slowly, no problem, but strong wind would ripp them off.

I tried to get them for the front side and the windscreen, Not much luck unless you buy the hideous ones you see abroad with a fan sort of display in the make up. Cant be rocket science to design them.

cheers coops. will ahv a think about that for the summer. Ive found out today that my boss has the rear blinds in his skoda but he doesnt use them as he doesnt like the line. Hes going to bring his accross so i can try them in mine

Lol Was that after eyeing mine up at GTi international Stu?

I've got the OEM ones too. The rear window blind is on a roller so can be easily retracted.

As others have said the side window ones look like tints and prevent people seeing in.

Yep - Got them ordered ASAP.

hi

my dealer told me Skoda rear blinds for estate no longer available - he'd previously agreed to throw them in when I bought the car - any thoughts anyone?

any thoughts anyone?

Forgot to order them?

Didn't realise how much they were?

Try another dealer to see if they are available before you go back to your dealer and ask them to provide what you agreed.

Stu, is your rear blind the roller type? I was about to order from our dealer, but wasn't sure if that was correct!? Thought it was a clip in type like the side windows. Do you have to drill the parcel shelf of window trim to fit it?

Cheers Guys!

Mine and Stu's (I think) are both roller blinds. You need to drill the parcel shelf and the top part of the boot trim. I got mine fitted by the dealer.

It's handy because you can just drop them down easily if required.
