hi all, my insurance ran out in august but i didnt renew it, is my NCB still available now? just looking at another motor but need my NCB for a sensible quote

Your NCB is available for 2 years from your last renewal.

Erm - I would check as I am sure I have had companies insist that I didnt have a gap bigger than 6 months in cover. 

 

2 years is industry standard, an individual company could require less, but I have never seen one that does.

Contact your previous insurer for proof of no claims (a renewal letter stating 1 years NCD is normally acceptable). You have paid for it, get it for your own records and in case new company wants to see it.

Given that this reply was 8 years late, I don't think its an issue now.

Haha I have no idea how I came across that!! It was at the top of the insurance feed for me!! Holythread revival bat man!!
