Featured Replies

My run-around, a Suzuki Baleno, has really dim headlights, a gradual thing thats happened over the years but its getting annoying now. I have tried new uprated bulbs but this made little difference. Is there anyway of actualling cleaning the inside of headlight? Or should I be cleaning up all the concetors?

Any ideas greatly appriciated cos I only use it in the dark now its winter!!

poor earths at the connectors can cause dim headlamps , deffo worthwhile checking all the connections

you may not be able to access the pins/contacts in the connectors , so the use of emery paper may not be possible , there could be some body earthing points for the light wiring , those should be accessable ,therefore cleanable

Would that silocone electrical grease be any good to improve the connection?

Those should be fun to try and trace! (there was never a haynes manual made for this car).

:)I would get the headlamps aim checked by a garage that does MOT testing.

Electrical contact cleaning spray maybe useful for the connectors.

Its recently had an MOT and all was fine. :)

I am guessing its the reflector loosing its shine or if plastic lenses the lense is failing. Try & see if you can get pattern new units.

Another option if you can live with the dip is to fit spotlights wired into the main beam

Pattern new units are pricey, not worth the expenditure tbh. I think I will try all th suggestions I recieved so far and if thats no better, start stripping the hedlights. But the key is that I dont want to spend any money it!!!
