Jerky brakes

Featured Replies

Hello people

My Fabia 1.9TDi showed the symptoms of warped discs by jerking when I applied the brakes at around the 50 MPH mark so I put it into the Garage and had new discs and pads fitted all round.

About 1000 miles later and the jerking brake problem has returned!

Cannot believe the discs have warped again...surely not??? could this be an ABS sensor playing up or could I be unlucky and have a fauly manufactured set off discs???

Any advice would be welcomed

Best regards

Clive

I had virtually identical symptoms, but after a while the new (brembo) discs seem to bed in and all became smooth. Don't rule out front wheel bearings or suspension wear if the problem persists.

Dented rim or mis-balanced tire may be the problem also. Geometry of the front axle also.

Or dodgy console bushes. I know mine are totally shot and I get braking and hard accelerating steering wheel wobble. However the braking wobble actually stops when significant pressure is applied. Cupra bushes being fitted soon so this should be rectified.
