Another Newbie says hello....

Featured Replies

Hi,

Good to be here. I'm "TatraSkoda" which might lead you to guess that I have two "classics" - my 1964 Tatra 603 and my 1979 S110R Coupe. As an everyday car I have a 1-year old Octavia vRS Estate (petrol), in which I do an obscene amount of miles (36,000 in 14 months of having the car!!!!) Luckily for me, it's a company car.

My last daily driver was another vRS Estate (the older 180bhp model) in which I covered 102,000 miles in three years. Before that, my first ever new car was an Octavia saloon - can't remember what the model was called, but it was the 150bhp turbo job with leather etc. before they started making the L&K variants. That was a really great car, and persuaded me to stick with Skoda for everyday use.

Cheers!

Allen

Hi and Welcome to Briskoda

Hi and welcome TatraSkoda. Saw a few Tatras at the NEC Classic Car show at the weekend. Interesting motors. I'm guessing your previous Octavia was an SLX - that's what brought me into Skoda ownership as well :)

Welcome

Hiya.

:wrthless: - that's of the cars, ok!

Hello and welcome. This Skoda owner is heading up today from near Brighton to the North Yorkshire Moors for a few days holiday!

Welcome :)

Alright, here we go:

Yes, yes, it's disgustingly dirty, I know, but this is one of the few pictures I have of this car. I liked the interior of this Octavia better than either of the other two - green leather to match the "Nature Green" paintwork.

Octavia number two, this time a vRS Estate. The old 180bhp version. Great car but I hated the horrible "silver" interior that quickly got grubby, and was very hard to get clean.

Had this car 3 years, did over 100K miles in her.

The current car, another vRS Estate, this time the new 200bhp version. Better, but have had a problem in that I have worn out the throttle body. Good job it was under warranty!

Now the classics: first one I forgot to mention when I introduced myself:

Yes, one of those Banham Spyder things. Based on a 136 Rapid (and yes, it had been terminally rolled and was beyond saving in it's original form, I promise!). This picture was of the front of the local paper when they used the picture to head a story about a local car show. Don't know who the two lads they roped in to the picture were, so I have blanked their faces. Sold this car after about four years because I just wasn't using it enough - I only did maybe 300 miles a year in it. A guy from Germany bought it and came and collected it on a trailer.

Not a Skoda, but my "pride & joy" to be honest. It's sixteen foot of aircooled V8 wonderfulness that is a Tatra 603. Mine's a 1964 car, I do about 3000 miles each year in her, I've owned it for about 100 years (I bought it in Ostrava in CZ), and I'll never sell it. Lastly, but not leastly, and I suspect of most interest to you guys:

Can you see what it is yet?

Obviously very much during restoration in the above pictures, it's my '79 S110R. Should be all done and on the road this side of Christmas.

Will that do for photos, then?

Nice cars  I want your S110R :D

Thats ok I can wait until you have finished the restoration :rofl::rofl:

Dribble!

Welcome to the club mate!

Cheers for that.

Is that why they called that colour "nature green"? I wasn't sure how a metallic got a name like that. Interest due to owning one that colour myself.

Also love all of the rear-engined cars, esp the Tatra.

Ref the 356 replica, there is a tuning guide in preparation for the Estelle, if that's of interest.
