Clue to crazy alarm?

Featured Replies

Some of you may recall a thread I posted a while back re my crazy alarm. It can work fine for weeks and then out of the blue start playing up something terrible - triggering at will, refusing to switch off......

Anyway, I had a quick play with vag-com yesterday and read the following fault:

Control Module Part Number: 6Q1 937 049

Component and/or Version: BORDNETZ-SG. 1S30

Software Coding: 09394

Work Shop Code: WSC 13765

1 Fault Found:

01598 - Drive Battery Voltage

07-10 - Signal to Low - Intermittent

Could this be anything to do with my alarm problem and what could be the actual cause of the above fault?

The code you have there is often seen following a battery disconnection.

There were issues with Fabia interior monitoring units - The fix is to replace it.

...Ahh, may have momentarily disconnected the battery when installing the Dragon box - thanks:thumbup:

Just an idea about your crazy alarm, check the bonnet switch near the bonnet catch, water can get in it if it is cracked and/or the cables get chaffed in the engine bay. I think this also can play funny things with the windscreen wipers too...

This one was suggested to me quite a while back by my local independant VAG specialist. I immediately disconnected said switch in the hope of a quick fix but alas the problem remains! It's probably the interior movement sensor as VRStu suggests which so far I haven't dared to investigate the price of replacement!

Cheers anyway.

Probably about £50 ish at a guess.

...mmm that's no too bad a price if I get to have an alarm again. Is it simply plug and play or does it need setting up with vag-com etc?

I'm collecting some parts I've ordered on Saturday, I'll get them to give me a price for the sensor then.

Thanks.

Should be plug and play.
