Felica's

Featured Replies

Hi

I am gerry i am from up here in sunny scotland about as far north as u can go on the west coast.

I am looking at playing with a felica as a project over the christmas, someone has said that the felica is based on a Mk3 golf, is this true?

Would mk3 golf coilovers fit it? Has anyone ever modded a felica tastefully?

I have a 1.9tdi mk4 130bhp engine etc sitting here waiting for it.

Crazy??

Hi and welcome, Gerry,

I go completely standard myself, but there's a lot of imaginative modding projects (completed and ongoing) discussed here! No doubt you'll get a lot of input. But if you don't mind I suggest that you to post in the Felicia section next time (or repost your question there :)

...No need to fit golf suspension when you can get HP sporting coilovers with -40mm springs developed specifically for competition use, not badly priced too at £350.

Has anyone ever modded a felica tastefully?

Yes, of course: people have modified Felicias tastefully, there are some high powered ones about in the Czech Republic...mainly based on the 1600 kitcar components etc. Also in czech rep/germany there are some nicely tuned "euro look" felicias about.

...If I had £1 for everytime someone said "I heard the felicia is based on this VW or that VW" - I would own a Group H tuned Favorit by now!

...In short the Felicia is based on the Favorit, the only thing in common a felicia has with a VW golf is the steering wheel and some of the interior switches and if you have the 1.6/1.9 VW engines, the 1.3s and all the engines mentioned use the original Skoda sourced gearbox.

That engine wont fit easily and it will be too heavy for the chassis to cope with anyway. Handling will be awfull.
