Auto-locking the doors when driving

Recommended Posts

Hi there everyone. I´m a new one. Got a Octavia Scout 2.0D. Great car.

Would appreciate if you could help me. I´ve notest you know every single detail about the car.

The thing is: I know there is a way to program the car so that, when you reach a certain velocity (minimum, I believe), it locks the doors in a automatic way, with no need for you to press the button. This is a security measure that I believe important because there are many car roberys that are made while people are waiting in traffic, for example.

I´ve tried already to press continuously in the locking door but didn´t get anything. Any ideas?

Sorry the "bad english".

Thanks.

Estorias

If you have maxi-dot, it's under Convenience > Door Open (or similar)

Auto Close - Does as you ask, and locks the doors at about 5mph

Auto Open - Unlocks the door again when you switch off, and remove your key from the ignition. (As long as you haven't manually changed the locking state since you started off)

Thanks guys just been out in the cold and tried it. Didn't really understand what door open meant, and as such didn't touch it been for a drive and"!clunk" doors locked something else from America? Now we need the button on the key fob to sound the horn so you can find your car in the MSCP.

Best we get is a single beep on arming - again settable within Maxidot ;)

Have a look at my post here, http://www.briskoda.net/forums/diagnostics-vag-com/vag-com-codes/55620/

Might be different on the newer versions ;)

Anti Hijack is an US thing but tbh I don't think it's really needed in the UK unless you guys drive through some REALLY rough areas, locking the car doors makes it a lot harder for someone to pull you out in the event of an accident.

(if you are in an area that makes you feel unsafe is it that hard to reach down and press the lock button????)
