Superb's DX Sat nav

Featured Replies

Good point, well made.

It is often possible to pick up DX data disks on Ebay. Any DX disk will work, including Mercedes-Benz. Having said that, UK TMC-enabled disks have only recently been available for the last six months, so there are probably not too many around as yet.

Yeah - looked on E-Bay and found a 05/06 TMC disc for £75 - plus £20 P+P! What outrageous prices for a map disc. Now TomTom are the only runners to buy-out Teleatlas, I suppose we could hope that the disc costs may become a little more economic - won't hold my breath though....

Is this any good 2007/2008 DX with TMC?

£49.95 with free P&P

There is a sound Filter. U are getting electrical interference signal with one of the wiring.

Yeah I have fitted this filter but it has made no difference.....I think that I need to re-wire the Earth as I believe this could be the problem....

I've just got this off E-Bay. When I put it in the DX unit it just continues to say please insert CD-ROM. Is there something you need to configure before changing disks?

No, it should just work. To judge by the images on the EBay page you have linked to, you have bought the correct disk.

I have sometimes noticed that the satnav does take a while to boot up, especially when a new disk has been loaded. I suggest you put the new disk in and just leave it. It can't do any harm, and if after (say) half an hour it still does not work then you know that you have a problem.

Is it a genuine disc?

I had all sorts of problems with mine using copied discs, some random roads just had big gaps in them for some reason which meant the guidance took you way out of your way, and in some cases it was impossible to get to your destination!

Bought a genuine disc in the end and it sorted everything!

It looks like the real thing to me. The seller is sending me another to test and if that doesn't work is going to give a full refund. I was concerned that the TMC might not be compatible with my DX. Think it might just be a faulty disk.

Just got the replacement disk. Works a treat. Definitely the real thing. Has Blaupunkt on the plastic of the CD. £49.00 was a bargain.

As I suggested in my recent post it depends on what type of DVD player you have?

I have a VW Multimedia Interface box that links my PS2 into the AUX plug on the DX unit but on other types of DVD players you will need a different box....

Can you tell me if this item is the same - similar to yours or where I can get one from please.

The smaller eBay picture looks like mine but the one listed in the main auction isn't, it also stated MFD2 / RNS2 which isn't in either Superb, it's DX which is the same as MFD, not MFD2.

The place I got mine from no longer seems to be trading...........
