My EPC was lighted yesterday. Have newer seen it before, went in here and read about it. My rearbrake lights works fine (all three). The car is a Skoda Fabia 16v 100 hp, 2001. It has about 100 000 km (62 000 miles).

Can I continue driving it? I'm forced do drive it 200 km (120 miles) tomorrow.

I don't notice any difference in performance or anything. My car has some idle problems once in a while (once a month), but it has been like that for many years, and always disapear when I rev the car. This is not present as we speak, or when the light went on.

Just because your brake lights work doesn't mean that the switch is not faulty. It is in fact two switches in one.

One switch does the lights, one switch does the EPC. Drove mine for weeks with the EPC light on no problem.
