This is my first post - so be kind! I couldn't find an answer to my specific question in the search utility. I have a new Octavia TDI PD 1.9 (105 bhp). Would the use of the above premium diesel fuels make a difference to the performance of my vehicle? It's quite a big difference to the discounted with ASDA credit-card diesel. I have been very disappointed with the performance in comparison to my previous 2.0 (140 bhp) - long story why! I would remap ECU, but is company vehicle and they have forbidden me. Shame as would give nearly 140 bhp. Any other suggestions for having a Brisk(er) Skoda?

there is a big difference with shell v power over asda but I am not sure if it warrants the extra cost, to be honest shell normal diesel is just fine and better than the normal esso

Much cheaper to use Millers Diesel Sport 4 in supermarket fuel - do a search on Millers as there are several threads and may even be a Group Buy going.

Millers costs about 1p per litre to use and most people reckon its as good as buying V Power - generally improves smoothness, power and economy

I'm in agreement about Millers DieselSport 4, it definitely improves any 'cooking' diesel and also perhaps to a lesser degree the premiums; gives me 2 -3 mpg better on V-power.

As to which fuel BP Ultimate and Shell V-Power are both better than ordinary fuel, I did a back to back comparison between the two over two tankfuls (450miles x 2 each) and found no particular difference in performance or economy. I buy V-power as it is 1-2p per litre cheaper for me and you get more 'points' with it.

Yes; Millers DieselSport 4 is suitable for all Euro IV compliant engines (hence the name) including ones with DPF i.e. its OK for an Octavia vRS TDI.

I don't bother with Millers if I'm putting V-Power Diesel in - seemed to make no difference at all when I tried a tank full with Millers and a tank full without... unlike with 'non performance' fuel :(

I find V-Power diesel in my current hire wagon - Mondeo TDCi 130 - makes no difference, in fact it disappears quicker, and has less miles to a tank than regular Diesel

I found my vRS TDi performed well enough on Regular, never had an opportunity to try on BP Ultimate or V-Power, but should do very soon...
