had to change the wheel tonight, spare is same size wheel as others, not a space saver buut still has 50mph max warning on..... why?

Is it a directional tyre, i.e. it is best fitted with a front and back as the tread works best to remove water in one direction only?

Haha, I was on my spare for ages. Also did 130 on it on my private airfield no probs

My 05 vRS has this too. I think it is in case the tyres are directional. Mine aren't- did any come with directionals as OE?

its got the same tyres the alloys have as standard

its nothing to worry about and has been discussed after i asked about it in the 'steel wheel' thread a couple of pages back.

the wheel is fine for as fast as the car will go, no idea why they fitted restriction stickers to them tho. the speed indicator usually applies to the tyre thats fitted on a space saver but if it the usual 205/45 R16 you will be fine
