Heater problems

Featured Replies

I noticed a while ago that the heater in my car is a little strange, sometimes when I have it on 18 degrees it blows hot air and at others freezing cold air  I took it for a long drive tonight to see if it got better but it is still the same! It is under warranty, should I take it back?

If I choose to use a different Dealer will I still be covered by warranty?

Does the Fabia have climate control. Or air con? Just wonder if is it something to do with a thermostat trying to maintain a constant temperature?

If the car is less than 3 yrs old you should be able to use any dealer for warranty work. I bought mine in Chesterfield, but have used Simpsons Preston a couple of times for small warranty jobs.

If it is over 3 yrs old, but with the 12 month Skoda Approved used car warranty, I'm not sure whether the same applies, or whether the supplying dealer has to do work in that case.

Use the search for Flap Motors Vix.

What I would suggest is to try and get a VAG-COM print before you take it in as they probably won't want to do the job and may try to fob you off.

It has aircon but the temperature fluctuates quite alot, I turned up the heat tonight only to be froze half to death.

It is a 53 plate, so has the 12 month used warranty :)

I will check that out thanks Stu :)

I have just got back from Woodheads in Blackpool, they stuck my car on diagnostics and it has shown 3 faults. 1, Flap motor 2, Servo motor and 3, another motor but I can't recall which one  They also heard the rattle on the dash and said they will look into it for me

They are ordering the parts and then will call me to arrange for it to go in

You can tranfer a used Skoda warranty from the dealer you purchased the car from

I am a happy bunny now :D
