Seen any Octavias breaking?

Featured Replies

Only need a couple of bits but proving hard to find anyone breaking octavia, or if they are not at silly prices.

In particular a beige estate laod cover and an estate rear bumper (facelift 2000>2004, if there is a difference!)

While I have posted in the wanted section, if anyone has visited a breakers and seen any breaking I'd appreciate a tip off. Doesn't matter where as I can mail order.

Cheers!

Greg.

Try Skospares in Poole. They usually have most bits you could possibly want

mines broken :(

Fast reply!

I'll ask again, but last week I was told no mirrors, no facelift bumpers... Maybe they were just too busy for me, or they sell out VERY fast?

Thanks, I have contacted and exhausted ebay.

Main problem with some of them is asking prices HIGHER than new for things like lights and mirrors, which is annoying for 2nd hand parts.

One suitable bumper there but it's missing the plastic strip and for that money it really shouldn't be as I can't imagine it will be that cheap from skoda....

surely they won't sell the bits if they are asking those sort of prices though?

thats stupid!

Having thought about this, as Octavia's are not common (ie like mondeo bits) I think people presume it's 2nd hand, they are not common, that must be what it's worth and just buy it without shopping around.

To my mind, anything 2nd hand has got to be 2/3, or more likely 1/2 or 1/3, the price of new.

I also spotted a cambelt and water pump on there for £67 (gone now), I pay £12 cambelt and £15 (+vat admittedly) water pump new. It just doesn't make sense does it, expecially when you add £7 delivery on!

DId the £12 + £15 include the water pump? I think thats where they get thier £67 from as they include the tensioners too. Which MUST be replaced :D

The guy on ebay was selling a cambelt and a water pump, nothing else, for £67 + postage.

My supplier is £12 cambelt £15 water pump (metal impella) + vat, total £31.73.

The tensioner is around £20 new, but as I say it wasn't included in that guys listing.
