Hello from farmideas

Featured Replies

I've had a long association with the company - my first 4WD tractor was a Zetor 5545 which I had in 1978 or so. Brilliant machine and was followed by a 6945 and a 5511 (2WD). I know a farmer with three children who were continually taking any car/van/Land Rover on the yard, leaving him with nothing to drive. So he found a rear engined Rapid, and found the key oon his Zetor fitted it. Well the battered communist car wasn't in the yard for long - it was soon the favourite with all the kids!

I'm running a 02 Fabia 1.9 sdi and logged on because of a heavy hum from the front wheels, and have already picked up a tip - swap the wheels front to rear and see if it changes or goes - it could be tyres rather than bearings. I'va had a phone quote from the dealer I (occasionally) use, Valley Services in Llandysul. They're quoting £150 each side, so tyres would be great news. I do the basic services myself, changing oil at around 7,000m. She's done 115,000 and it all sounds good up front, and she'll return 60mpg on a run - of which there are many. I bought it on eBay! quite a bargain.

If anyone has an interest in farming take a look at my web site www.farmideas.co.uk Loads of ideas which save money, something on the top of most farmers' minds!

All the best
