AV senders

Featured Replies

Anyone use one, at home?

Looking at putting a TV in a location that isn't within reach of an aerial point, and it's not feasible to wire one in either.

So I thought about a wireless AV sender, with the ability to relay remote signals. That way I can plonk a Freeview box next to an RF point and still use the TV in the location I want.

A swift Google revealed this at Maplin:

Maplin > Wireless Video Link with Remote Sender

Any good? Do I need to pay anymore? Clearly it's a bit pointless if it doesn't quite do the job properly. I'd then obviously look at something different, and more expensive if need be.

Thanks!

Steve

Yup I got one from Argos a couple of years back to allow me to watch Sky upstairs without running cables everywhere. Works very well, although my WLAN and (cheap!) microwave can interfere with the picture occasionally, but for the majority of the time it's perfect :D

Cheers Chris - yeah, did realise it worked on 2.4, along with everything else! :D

DECT handsets, microwaves, WLAN - I'm sure I can squeeze some RF transmission in there somewhere :)

I got one similar to this, from Argos, but i think its the Digisender model, also has a pickup for the remote signal, very small and just plugs into the scart discreetly.

As Chris said it did get bothered by my wireless but I changed the channel on my router and the signal cleared up fine.
