Hi! Yet another "mature" member, but still feel like a teanager at times. I live in Daventry England. Bought a new Octavia 1.9 TD DSG Elegance about 6 months ago. Great car and much more room inside than I expected. It's running well and I'm impressed by the 48mpg for an auto with only 5K on the clock. Only real problem found was 2/3 bucket of clean water in the spare wheel well. Tried everything (without success) to try to make it leak as I read that one member had a leak around the rear light. Took it to the dealer who took a look, checked the rear wash pipework and "tightened down the tailgate" I'm not optimistic, but we shall see. I have a question and would like some advice. The instruction manual tells me that the headlamp washers only work with dipped and main beam but mine also work with sidelights only. The dealer tells me that they all do. Is there any way that I can turn off or manually control the headlamp wash? It is costing me a fortune for washer fluid, and winter hasn't even started yet.
