ABS light on???

Featured Replies

Hi:

I'm one of the new guys...searched and found nothing substantial to do...

My abs light just kicked in on me today and dunno what to do...the manual says you gotta take it to a Skoda dealer...no way, I believe you guys can give me a hand first!

Please help...

:o

Might be worth checking the sensors on/near the brake calipers as road debris on them can cause the ABS light to come on.

what he said.

Also - if there's a problem with one of the cylinders not working - you'd get a torque mismatch which would get the ABS light to come on and stay on.

Vag-com the car and see what specifically comes up - there's a UK map on Brisk of helpful members who have the cable - could be someone nearby.

Agreed; you can check the sensors and rotor rings for crud yourself, and I'd make that a first step. Then VAGCom, and then decide if I was happy to tackle the job myself depending on diagnostics.
