Octy Vrs Cruise control

Featured Replies

I am having trouble with my cruise control,

It started when the ecu was loaded with the wrong checksum and wouldnt start. (I had a map loaded on in london and drove back to cardiff were it worked fine till I stopped the car for a few Hr and it wouldnt restart)

I had skoda look at it and they couldnt sort it in time so A member gave me the name of a guy that could fix it. he took ecu out and put the correct software on so the car ran. I never thought aut of it till I drove all the way home were I tried to use cruise and nothing works.

does anyone have any Ideas on what it could be?

is it something to do with the ecu?

billy

It might need the cruise enabled again.

It can be done with VAG-COM if that is the problem.

lol cheers how do I do that? I only got the 401 version. can it be done with it?

cheers mate

Not sure but you can try.

Open Cont 01 - Engine and then select login and type in 11463 and then do it.

I have found that a blown brake light or a door left ajar will also stop the cruise working!!

mmm cheers for the info mate, Dont think it is that coz lights all work fine and the door sensors say they are shut. I wish that it was that simple lol

Doesn't the brake pedal switch need to be tip top as well for cruise to function.

Just a thought ....HTH

If the Brake Pedal switch (very common failure) has failed then the CC won't work.

VAG-COM scan is your best bet.

mmm Was thinkin about the pedal switch, I have done a scan and no faults were detected??????

Ill have another look tomoz and see...

cheers fellas for all the tips

You could try looking at the MBV for the CC Stalk and see if it is operating. You can also check the Brake Pedal Switch.

Look at Group 66 in Engine 01

I think it'll look like this on your 1.8T.

066,0,Electronic Throttle (Cruise Control System)

066,1,Vehicle Speed,(current)

066,2,Switch Positions I,,See Label File

; xxxxxxx? = Brake Light Switch

; xxxxxx?x = Brake Pedal Switch

; xxxxx?xx = Clutch Pedal Switch

; xxxx?xxx = CCS (Cruise Control System) enabled

; xxx?xxxx = ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) available

; xx?xxxxx = Main Switch engaged

; ??xxxxxx = CCS Status

066,3,Vehicle Speed,(specified)

066,4,Switch Positions II,,See Label File

; x0xxxxx? = CCS ON (CAN)

; x0xxxx?x = SET (CCS ON)

; x0xxx?xx = Deceleration (-)

; x0xx?xxx = Acceleration (+)

; x0x?xxxx = SET

; x0?xxxxx = RESUME/RESET

; ?0xxxxxx = CCS ON (Hardware Pin)
