Change from Octavia vRS to Fabia vRS?

Featured Replies

I have owned my octy Vrs for 2 years and been very happy with it, I have recently changed jobs abd doing 80 miles commute per day, so is costing me £15 in fuel......

I have been looking at A FABIA VRS, i know its a lot smaller and not as quick, Would i be just as happy with a fabia with a re-map, I have had 1.9 PD engines before in a golf GT TDi and a bora so i know the drive will be different, just wondering if anyone else has made the same move

btw i have considdered the octy vrs diesel but i dont want to spend 16k on a car when im doing approx 25k miles a year so thats out of the question

Any comments are appreciated :)

You will be very happy with a re-mapped fabia IMHO. U can get 180BHP out of it easy, plus you would have a tonne more torque than in the octy which is always fun :D

For me the benifits of the fabia are great, small so light (ish!) Very economical (cant spell, sorry) and very fast!

on the evidence i have seen 180bhp is very unlikley from just a map but thats by the by,you would be happy with a standard vrs, they feel much faster than they actually are,the require grabbing by the scruff and manhandling down the road, the flaws are part of the fun,and they are cheap to mod,if you require more,i have comefrom a skyline at 400bhp,back to a fabia and don't regret it for a second, this is my third one and i love it:thumbup:

my dad has a fabia vrs, ive got the octy, even standard i was mightly impressed with the wee fabia. So its not exactly a massive step down

I have had my Fabia vrs for two years now and am thinking of changing it for an Octavia or Superb just for the comfort as I am about to start commuting 110 miles a day.

The Fabia is great economically and for nimble quick driving, but it is a bit like driving a rollerskate if you intend to cruise on the motorway above 80mph for any length of time.

If I was travelling under 60 miles a day on the motorway or driving mainly on normal roads I would recommend the Fabia without hesitation.

Youll lose a lot of consumption though.
