sorry thought i was in Octavia 1 section :o

Octavia VRS mk1 the police steel engine sump cover

It attaches to the same place the original one does, just screws to various clips attached to the front bumper and subframe.

I had one fitted about 6 months ago and it is the best mod I have made to the car!

I got the dealer to fit as they needed to insert some captive nuts and I do not have the special tool to fit them with. the cost was a little more than buying all the bits and tools to fit.

I have hit it a few time since fitting but when I had it up on the ramps a few weeks ago you could see that it is doing the job and I think that you would have to hit it very hard to do any damage!

and yes it covers everything under there like the sum etc as it is one bid bit of steel!

The rear edge fits into 3 rubber mounts which are bolted to the subframe (two of them are the same as the mounting points for the audi a3 lower strutbrace)

Tthe front two bolts thread into two 6 inch long tubular mounts which are bolted to the chassis rails with two bolts each just behind the front bumper cover

This means there are 7 rivnuts to position

The front bumper cover and the wheelarch liners can then be attached to the front and front side edges of the sump guard as they should be on the plastic cover
