Engine management

On Saturday I had the pleasure of the 'control system for exhaust gasses' light come on. Then shortly after the dpf light came on. Thought these would be related after double checking in the manual. Although the car didn't go into limp mode. I took it to the local dealer, dpf light went out on the way there, and they plugged in the computer to check what was happening. They did find that there was actually a fault in the glow plug system. They have now upgraded the software in the glow plug system, and all's well.

Has this happened to anyone else, or anyone heard of similar?

Glad all is ok now

Yep she's fully fit now. So I thought I'd share it in case some has similar symptoms.

Had similar experiences in the past ... 'control system for exhaust gasses' light came on once i started the car and a few miles down the road so did the DPF warning light. DPF light went off after driving a few miles home, but car never went into limp home mode. Took the car to the dealer next day, they disgnosed fault as sensor around the DPF. Replacement ordered and fitted .. no problems since.

Sounds like it's in limp mode now. May have to visit dealers to reset things, someone please correct me if I'm wrong. Could the rev limit when stationary be something to do with the launch control, but maybe only with foot on clutch.
