Lights on vRS

Featured Replies

The lights on my vRS are woeful at best.

I note that they are H4 fitment.

Are the dipped and main beam the same bulb? (i know very little of light bulbs LOL).

Cheers :)

Hi Angry Dog, they are the same bulb with a second bulb for sidelights. Powerbulbs sometimes do a 2 for one offer on them with a free set of sidelights. I got it a while ago - worked out just over £20 delivered for 2 sets of very bright white bulbs and a set of sidelights delivered - very good bulbs too.

I went to Halfords and got them on 2-4-1

Thanks guys :D

I'm looking at fitting a Xenon Kit, but it looks like i'll need one with dipped and main beam, rather than just dipped.

There are questions about the legality of Xenons on cars not OEM with them right now.

I'd go with the Powerbulbs suggestion. You're correct about the H4 bulb combining 2 elements in each bulb.

I am aware of the legalities :)

Just grabbed a set of vision-plus philips bulbs for £8.20 on ebay.

I am aware of the legalities :)

What are they? I thought you had to have washers and levelers. However, somebody I work with fitted these on his Audi without washers and levelers, and says that it went through 2 MOTS whilst he owned it.

I was thinking of the doing the same as (as per this thread), the headlights are quite $hite, especially in rain or drizzly weather. I would rather get the right advice before investing.

At least technically, you need automatic headlight levelers, or self-levelling suspension, and washers, and correctly E-marked reflectors and lenses for plasma discharge units. Odds on that all MoT testers actually check is that the lights work (and maybe beam aim).
