Blue tints?

Featured Replies

My Girlfriends dad has a BMW 118i and the wing mirror have a really nice blue tint to them, which looks sooooooo nice!

Any one no if this is possible to do on the Fabia VRS?

The other car is the Merc which has blue tints all round, which if on a silver fabia would also look pretty nice IMHO.

I no windows can be tinted but wasnt sure if they could be done in this blue colour?

Once again, cheers for the help!

Tinted wing mirrors are anti dazzle ones, dont think you can get them on the fabia.

The bluish tinted glass is heat reflective glass. it contains metalic particles to reflect heat, keeping the car cool on hot days. Its very expensive as an option aon mercs and bmw's. some renaults also come with the windscreens done in this glass.

Nothing to stop you putting some light blue film on, but i dont think this would suit the fabia tbh

Its like an anti glare lens, you can get them for Golfs but not sure if its the same wing mirror as the Fabia.

Cheers mate!

Yeah ive seen some at Halfrauds in Scunny.

I think the glass is the same shape, its just the plaggy backing that holds it in.

You could risk it, but i wouldnt fancy trying to prise it away from the glass without the risk of breaking it.

I think old shape A4 mirrors are the same as the fabia's. Plus they're available in blue tint. Might be best prising some off from a scrap yard, before you spend your money on new ones.

You can get the mirror with the blue anti dazzle glass for the golf and octy, so i guess it's a case of finding out which other VAG cars use the fabia mirrors and seeing if you can get the glass from them with this coating on.

I've thought about this before and I'm interested in the results

Like i said the glass is the same, its the backings that are different....

I've got this on the back burner i'll post results when i've come up with a viable solution
