10k intervals 10w/40, oil colour?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Got the day off so gave the car a little clean and checked over a few things (girlfriend is WELL happy! :rolleyes:).

First off, the oil is looking... a weird brown colour. It's consistant and not milky etc... just different.

Looked at the service and it stated that semi synthetic 10w/40 was used, this ok?

I even took a picture for ya'll;

It's probably all fine... but thought it worth asking :thumbup:

Looks more like skid marks.

Or are we supposed to now all see different faces of Jesus???? If so you can sell it on Flea-Bay....LOL.

Very awkward to see any colour of the oil when wiped onto a dirty cloth.

Haha, I tried it on a clean cloth and it looks more of a normal colour now.

Weird!

Ok, so I guess it just leaves the question is semi 10w40 cool? :)

Should be alright but I stepped mine upto fully synthetic Mobil 1 as the engine is working harder.

Looks fine to me Ethos.I use Castrol Edge fully synthetic oil since remap.

Its dead cheap for a change at National tyres.
