New VRS owner

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Thought I would introduce myself. I'm John and stay near edinburgh. Tongiht I signed up to a black '04 Fabia VRS from my local Skoda dealer. It will be mainly the wife's runner as I have a Clio 172 however she is expecting in May so I will be the dedicated driver for the family runs!!

The car itself has 60k on the clock however is absolutely mint as the owner is the dealers brother. He has also remapped the car to crica 170bhp, however im unsure of torque figues, possibly 270 lb ft??!

The car also has had the wheels refurbed in Anthracite a couple of weeks ago with a new set of rubber on each, they complment the black beautifully. It also has green WRC stickers, however i'm unsure if these were a limited run on the black or are they aftermarket. I'm sure I have seen them on a few black VRS's. Can someone help me with that one??

It will be my first diesel car, and first impressions are excellent. Steering feel isn't bad, however the rest of the car shines, especially quality over the clio - and the in gear torque is phenominal..

Anyway, enough of me... hope to stay on the forum for a long time to come - any questions or advice, please post away:)

John

P.s. car history over last 3 years

1972 mini (still got)

1999 Paul Smith mini

3 x clio 172's (still got 1)

white 306 Rallye.

Thanks for the welcome guys...

i would start saving for your new uprated clutch matey

i recently bought a remapped 04 vrs with 180 bhp with 37K miles

the clutch and Dual mass flywheel went 2 days ago as the standard clutches cant handle the remapped torque.

For a new clutch and single mass flywheel, both uprated from Helix im looking at £880 just for the parts!

get a pic up of the anthracite wheels

The paintwork is in great condition for the age, minimal swirls and marring. will get the car on stands for a full detail next week all going well.

ok, missed this thread first.

i made your WRC stickers on behalf of West End Garage where i'm assuming you bought the car. failing that it came from there originally. :)

welcome !

I saw the car this morning at West End when I got my service done. Looks a great car.

I saw them move it, so does that mean you have it now ?

I'm just along the road from you, in Linlithgow.

They put it in storage so that nothing happens between the time for signing for it, and the time of collection. Awaiting the private plate transfer from her old car to the VRS.

Was yours the VRS parked on the main street?? Beautiful car.:)
