I've been playing with a 60 day MS Visio trial for the past few weeks and found it most helpful when I've been writing the company QMS (its amazing how much you can reduce procedures by with a diagram or two!). Trouble is my free trial expired today and being too cheap to fork out for a proper version:O I was wondering if anyone could recommend a freeware alternative??

StarOffice Suite: Download StarOffice 8 for Free includes a Visio equivalent.

I'd start with Staroffice. I've only played with it, but it's pretty good these days. It reads all MS formats.
