Hi all,

As requested, I have cleaned my car, and the new wheels and also added a little something!

I think it looks quite good!!

Looking good  - the Solids really are the best wheel for the Superb

Wheels look good mate and are one of the best for the Superb.......

I assume that you have retrofitted the door chrome strips? Any plans to do the others?

What else is in line.....modification wise?

I love my new wheels.

I will do both front and rear, but need to go to Halfords for more trim lol, I had about 3cm left off the roll after doing all the doors. I think the result is brilliant. Not as good as the OEM ones, but I just wanted to brighten up the outside a little.

More mods, well I am toying with lowering it a liiiitle bit. That and a Jabba remap :)

Then its onto the inside. I'm finding the seat a little hard for my driving, so I might look at some replacements, or even just some elegance leather ones. ICE is next on my list.

Lowering is a must..........:)

As for the seat being heard? Mine feels like an armchair? Wouldn't have thought that leather would make any difference?

Maybe its just me lol....

I like these the best, but i think they are a euro spec cos i've not seen a UK one with them on as standard.

They're the standard "Cygnus" wheel on the UK Elegance model - the "Solid" wheel is a no cost option.

The Cygnus replaced the Solid on UK Elegances or MY07 model year IIRC.

The car is looking awesome. Great wheels ;)

Hmmm, the Cygnus ones are only 17's, I bet they'd really look in 19 or 20 inch.

LOL......most wheels do look good in 19's or 20's.......

I decided the 17"s are a huge improvement over the 16"s in terms of looks and ride comfort.

I love your look Mr Baker21, but its too low for my roads lol, but I'll prob go a bit lower than currently :)

It's surprising that fitting larger rims doesn't effect the ride comfort, I thought that my 19's and suspension would be really harsh but it's not bad at all.........the armchair seats help......LOL!!

The ride height is not for everyone but a little lower wouldn't hurt.......

I agree about the looks, but how can bigger wheels, so lower profile tyres improve the comfort??

My 17s have improved ride comfort over the 15s... the car no longer bounces all over the place. :)

Beat me too it mate.....spot on answer.....

OK i must have my thick head on,

I don't see how lower profile tyres can improve comfort over std ones period.

Looks and handling, yes i go with, just not comfort.

Assuming the old tyres were a decent make with the correct pressures in them, then why would they "bounce all over the place" anyway?

Less sidewall height = less give over potholes and bumps etc, so the ride will be harsher not smoother, if the car is lowered or stiffened up with higher rate springs this will be made harsher still.

To have the best road holding suspension, the trade off is always the comfort.

You are quite correct mate but I can agree with Tom as I have had many different motors with different wheels where in some cases the change can improve the 'overall' comfort of the car but I also think it depends on how you define 'comfort'......

What's with the American quoting......LOL!!

Nope, sorry, but with the 60 profile tyres at the correct pressures the car would bounce over every lump and bump, any undulating road could have your **** leaving the seat!

Now with the 45 profile, the bounce has all but gone, the car feels more planted, but still soaks up potholes etc like the 60 profiles did.

If going down to a 20 profile or something, sure, the ride will be much more harsh, but from the 60 to 45, its a definite improvement.

oy, chris 1d, have you stole my car ? lol !

i have a black superb, with very similiar wheels, and, of coarse, the chrome door strips,

i put 18in alloys on, big difference from the standard 16in steel wheels

I dont have reversing sensors, so, i put the chrome strips all the way round the back bumper as well.

only difference, mine has a taxi roof sign on top !

Mine is green :P so nope, sorry I didn't steel it. Butr it did use to have lights on the top....blue ones.

It used to be an armed response vehicle for the police. Well, the solid metal plating in the boot where it looks like a "cage" once was gives me that impression...its only small, but enough for hand guns or something...

ah, i see the green now at a closer look!

it looks black in the first 2 photo's, are the first 2 photo's black and white?

i can see the green in the 3rd photo.

i just want to buy leather interior for mine now!

here's a picture of my old banger !

i just put on the 18in alloys, and, yes, it needs a wash !

ill add another picture later,
