Fabia vRS Leather Interior and York

Featured Replies

Just a few back from The Seat Surgeons in York; a huge thumbs up to Paul, Bridget and company for a superb job, great service and just being all-round nice people. I dropped the car off at the factory and one of the lads drove me to the hotel. I was late because of the fecken, lying, cheating, useless, rip-off merchant ferry company and Paul rang me to apologise for not meeting me in person, but he had to attend a meeting (this is the boss of the outfit!)

York is a super place. While the car was being trimmed I took the chance to see a little bit of the town and do some Christmas shopping. Its a while since I visited a city so full of helpful, friendly people where old traditional values like courtesy, customer service and just being "nice" were the rule rather than the exception. Even the staff in the local take-away (large, American-owned, francished, primarily gold-coloured logo, etc.) had dropped the vocal Americanism's in favour of a local meet-and-greet style, which was refreshing.

These boys and girls as well as taxi-drivers, sales staff in shops and supermarkets, waitng staff and managers in pubs and a couple of restaurants, bank-staff, people I asked for directions in the streets as well the The Seat Surgeons made the entire trip a pleasure (apart from the bits at the beginning and end where I had to interact with that f"""""" ferry company again).

I thought we used to do the friendly welcomes here in Ireland very well, but in latter times we have lost something; it was great to find it again. The people of York and Briskodians have a lot to be proud of.

I'll post pics as soon as I am rested up and the gale dies down. Thanks to furelise and a couple of others on here for the help and ideas. Now I must sleep some more; I'm old.

A long trip but I am sure it was well worth it.

Nice car mate!!

Don't suppose you noticed my Octy in the opposite carpark?

I loved your grille and wheels, looked amazing

Thanks, even though the car was covered in sh1te after my trip, but what car-park? Opposite Seat Surgeons? Sorry, but I was in and out of the place Thursday pretty quickly. Paul gave me a tour of his set-up Friday and we finished our bit of business. Then it was route planning via my amazing little Garmin sat-nav box of tricks and I was out of there pretty quickly. Sorry I missed you and there's no sticker on my car at the moment to show I'm on here. Maybe next trip..?

No credit due to me here, jedi had these on the car before I bought it off him; I just replaced the Audi centre-caps with the Skoda ones.

this thread is useless without pics :D

how much did you pay for the retrim?

I would be very interested in seeing pics and also approx price!

Cheers!

New pricing is £845.00 plus VAT for a full leather (seats and doorcards) Fabia retrim, less Briskoda discount. Following discussions before my visit, we agreed on a slightly lower figure. Please talk to the man, he is very approachable and pragmatic.

There are other options for other cars. We talked about Passats and Audis with both less expensive and substantially more expensive retrim options.

I look forward to referring business their way in the future.

Thanks Mat! Looking forward to the pics - I'm very near York so may go and say hello to them and see the different options

You're obsessed! I didn't notice anything else down there when I went .....it was raining and all I cared about was the new leather going into my car. :D

Funny how you all think York is lovely. Try working there.....the road network is so badly managed it's unreal and severe congestion is commonplace.

Can't say I've noticed if the people are nicer or not. I know there's far less flange kicking around than say Leeds for example......much more slot over that way.

Granted the A1237 ring-road (?) is a bit of a car-park at times, but nowhere's perfect. I liked what I saw and the people I met during my visit and will try and get time to see more the next time.

Shame I didn't know you were there.....what day was it you went again? You could've popped into the office for a cuppa.

Luckily I don't have to use that side of the ring road on a daily basis. Our office is near the other side so it's dual carriageway A64 for most of it.

Crispy- arrived 3:30-ish last Thursday, collected car noon Friday and I was under a bit of time pressure to catch the ferry home. I needn't have bothered, the sailing was cancelled "due to adverse weather conditions" - aka a bit of wind.

Maybe next trip I'll drop you a note beforehand and we'll meet up if the invitation is still open.

Yeah, you're lucky using the A64, that ring round is a catastrophe, a bit like here at home. We've had a huge upsurge in the car population, and the infrastructure to get them from place to place is lagging behind.

If the weather clears, I'll post pix of car interior tomorrow.

talking of nice interiors.....ive just seen a black fab 1.4 with no mods on outside but inside was the smartest tan leather interior ive seen:).....was well tasty indeed.....and in dublin aswel!.....havent seen it around before but if your on here let me know who did it for ya:)

k:)
