no power to radio, no alarm chirp..

Featured Replies

ive just put a new radio in my car, but now it wont turn on (neither will the old one) and also the alarm doesnt chirp when i arm disarm.

im gonna check the fuses but part of me thinks something else is wrong :(

any ideas?

I'm not too sure of what your problem might be but I remember reading people have had problems with their convenience module after fitting new stereos. Did you disconnect the K wire before fitting it?

I'm sure someone will be along soon with a bit more knowledge!

As an aside, my alarm doesn't chirp, hasn't done since I had the car. Is it the standard alarm you have?

I've sorted the radio.

no i didnt remove the k-wire.#

the doors still lock, the light still flashes but no chirps / beeps when it locks.

it is meant to have a cobra fitted, it operates off the standard key.

With a std fit VAG alarm they dont chirp, but it can be activated via VAG-COM.

Does the alarm go off?

Might be the siren packed in?

it was working until i fitted the radio.

You need to disconnect the K wire, leaving it connected plays havok with the cars electrics.

I've put the standard radio back in now.

The alarm chirps now and again - seems intermittent.

which wire is the k wire?

Don't cut the K wire, cut the wire it goes to on your head units loom. It should be the powerd output for an electric ariel, blue and white I think.
