Hi guys. My 3-month old Fabia has developed this annoying squeak that can be heard when driving on a bumpy road. It occurs under the dashboard and seems linked to the internal mechanism of the clutch pedal (there seems to be a metal bar that climbs upwards towards the dashboard from the clutch pedal). When the clutch pedal is moved sideways (rather than depressed) it can be heard too. Has anyone encountered this situation please? Can anyone suggest a solution? Thank you very much.

I've not come accross this problem but had a problem like this on my last car and wee bit of wd40 seemed to cure it.

Yeh I had this. Very annoying so just sprayed loads of wd40 up there. Soon cured it

Thats seems to be the cure.

It is very commom on fords for it to squeek when it is very cold and damp.

It's a known problem on the Fabia..... Depending on whether the squeak / creek is coming from the panelling around / above the pedals or the pedal itself results in a different way of sorting it out..... If it's the pedal making the noise then it's usually just the spring that needs some WD40 spraying on it from underneath the pedal..... If it the panelling then there some screw that needs tightening.

Do a search for clutch or creek in the fabia forum and you'll find a few threads about it.

my brothers VRS has a very creaky clutch pedal , it has been greased by the dealer , this never fixed it , it really needs the lower dash panel taking off to ascertain exactly where the noise is coming from
