Just bought A Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

Well I went to test drive it yesterday and was very Impressed so signed on the dotted line and ill be picking it up next week. See what people mean about the seats they do get very dirty. The Skoda dealer assured me that they would get the stains out of the seats, better had or no money his way J It felt quick standard so they must feel very quick Re-Mapped

Congrates mate! you will love your new car! What colour did you get?

Dont worry about the seats, dead easy to clean and come up a treat with some 'shout' spray which is cheap as chips!

Got Silver in the end. Quite liked it in silver. Seats had black on them but im sure they will get it out. Also has a performance Exhaust nice little bonus i suppose :)

Thats a very nice bonus! Mine silver to, i like them the best because from the front its more obvious its a vrs than the black. Think its because the black round the fogs stand out more.

have to wait a week to get it though. Cos someone has keyed the car right down one side ? Why? so needs to be resprayed. My saxo VTS gets treated nice this week.

With a remap it will be quicker than the VTS, prob not as good in the corners but MUCH better fuel ecconomy i should imagine!

You planning any mods at all?

Ive had mine for a year now, had no problems with it so im very pleased with it. had mine re-mapped by angel tuning at 8,200 miles after 1st service. made a hell of a difference running at 179-187bhp depending on which rolling road i use. had it on 5 so far.

187 sounds optimistic, but i must admit it would be nice!

yeah thinking of remapping eventully. Just slightly worried about the clutch slips etc. Its got 39,000 on it which isnt much for a diesel. Had a focus TDCi with a Dragon box made it pretty good.

Mine needed a new clutch and flywheel after the remap :(

some tuners rolling roads give higher figures than independants because its marketing. they want you to think their remap is better because it gives you more power.

ive used 2 independant RR's and they've given me 182 and 180. mpg went up 3-5mpg but that depends on how you drive!

angel tunning did mine for £300 and came to my house. but custom remaps such as jabbasport in peterbourough i Think charge £475 go to www.jabbasport.co.uk for updated price.

Depends on the remap from what ive been reading. Angel do a lower powered one less harsh on the clutch so may well go for that one.

you want the most power you can get and a sachs organic clutch! If you get a lower power remap, you will get bored and wish you had more power IMHO

Thats true although the Clutch is expensive isnt it?? I read somewhere its £700 or something around that price? Is it really worth it?

If you get on a Group buy, you can prob get for around £400, gotta get someone to fit it then tho!

Its worth it!

Ill wait till the warranty runs out and then remap it. That way i can save for the clutch in the mean time :)

Good idea!

Well ill try anyway. Knowing me it will get remapped before it runs out.

This is what my remap did to my clutch

I must say now ive got the sach one in, its bloody superb! the remap is much more useable now, and theres no vibrations from the new DMF :D

Thats crazy!!

pretty much destroyed the clutch then.

My clutch came out good as new! it was my flywheel that was fooked!

how could you tell. Did it slip?

At certain revs when booting it it used to slip, i lived with this for about 4months tho, never got worse and wasnt an issue inless you booted it.

I went and spent the money on the clutch, thinking that was what it must be but when my mechanic went to replace the OEM he told me the flywheel was fooked big time! the clutch came out looking like new as the OEM clutch is also sachs.
