some electronic trouble!?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am driving a 1.4 Fabia combi of 2004.

For a longer period I had time by time the problem that during driving the engine "switched off" and due to the feed-back force from gear started again immediately.

I ignored the problem an since yesterday have the problem that the warning light for ABS and ASR is permanently on.

Brake tests show that the ABS is not working anymore :-(

Fuse is allright (number 25 in the fusebox).

Unfortunately I don't have the equipment to read error codes - so I cant provide these.

Is there anything else I can check - loose connectors, some fuses at the ABS controller (by the way where can I find it), etc?

I would appreciate if anyone could help ...

i'm sure there have been problems with water ingress into the wiring loom over the N/S inner wing , corrodes the wires

thanks for your hint ric04vrs - seems that the biggest problem of skoda is the leakiness, anyway to check this I should know where to find the controller - even better would be a wiring diagram has anyone an idea or sth.?

I had finally been at a repair shop - error code told that ABS pump is not working - finally it was not the loom but a single calbe corroded ... a relatively cheap thing :P

thanks again ...mig

hold on a minute - if the engine stops and then restarts - one cylinder may take a while to start up - throwing up a torque mismatch code that turns on the ASR/ABS light and locks the ASR switch. Only needs re-setting. Unlikely that the ABS pump needs anything doing - just fix the wire, get the ECU reset and watch it. IF it does it again then get the ABS pump replaced...
