Chipping a 1.4TDi

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried chipping the 1.4TDi (of any of the three bhps!)?

I have just got the 1.4TDi 80 and would like more power at the lower end (below 2200rpm) - the 1.9 100bhp I had before had linear power delivery from 1500 upwards and I'd like to get as close as i can to that - I'm not so bothered about big power increases, though 10/15bhp would not come amiss!

Contemplating it - but on the 75 I'd like to see something that extended the rev /power band -- the bottom end is too low and the top end cutoff is also too low. --any ideas anyone

Think we'll take that as a No, VWD!

I thought that there were a few tuning companies on here who may have done it and could offer some feedback, but obviously the 1.9s are keeping them too busy!!

Indeed there are tuning companies on here, whether they have carried out tuning on a 1.4tdi I can not say.

Have you tried contacting any of them directly or indeed posting in the Maintenance & Performance section?

Or perhaps in the tuning companies individual section of the forum which they may be more likely to frequent?

Hi!

I will post a URL to a Norwegian tuning-firm. As you will see, you can expect 105hp/240nm, from the 1,4TDI.

TS-Racing Chip Senter

I do not know if they make the software themselves, or buy it somewhere else.

I hope there is some UK-tuners that also can do the job!:)

Ive heard that remaping the 1.4 tdis gives really good gains.

i know the 75bhp versions go up to 100bhp

I know someone who remaped their mk5 polo 1.4tdi and it kept up with a vrs (due to the weight advantage)

Hi,

Try Tunit or Superchips. I know that they will tune up the diesel 3 pot. Get a copy of "What Diesel" magazine as they always advertise in there. You will be looking at around £300-500.
