Toshiba 37Z3030D TV

Featured Replies

Looking at getting one of these as my next TV - Full HD £699 minus £75 of gift vouchers:).

It gets good reviews and is reasonably priced...

I will be using it connected to my PVR PC via a Nvidia 7800GT with two DVI outputs. Toshiba lists the TV as only supporting WXGA i.e. not the full 1920x1200 (1080p) via VGA connection.

Can I connect using a DVI to HDMI connector (Audio will be going via a separate optical link to my 5.1 speakers) to get the full 1080p?

Yes, no problems connecting through DVI-HDMI cable, thats how my HTPC is connected to the TV.

hello there everyone, what a great little site. ive just joined and this is my first post :P. i couldnt beleive my eyes when i seen you bought a 37z3030 telly for £699 as this is just what am after, lol. please would you be so kind to share where this great deal is ? :) and what do you think of this model? worth buying? am not very good with stuff like this.

many thanks guys

I bought a 42Z3030DB and its awesome... or was awesome for the day and a half that it worked! I'm pleased that I spent a bit extra and got it from Currys rather than having the risk of dealing with an internet only company. New one turns up on Tuesday and hopefully this will last a bit longer! The 37" seems to suffer more issues than the 42". Clouding seems to be the major one and some backlight leakage. If you get a good one though they're superb tv's. Have a read on AVForums, theres a post about 130pgs long about Tosh Z series LCDs.

hi, thanks for your help and info mate, ill check that out cheers

I have just bought a Sony Bravia KDL40W2000 from John Lewis for £979 (£20 Discount code via HotUKDeals!) and 5 years warranty.

I never meant to spend more that £500!

It would have probably been a Samsung 40N86/7 or M86/7 for £250 less but the warranty sold it for me!
