Tyre Dressing/Polish

Featured Replies

Just wondering if you guys dress your tyres?

If you do whats the best stuff you have found that lasts?

I am using turtlewax stuff atm but doesnt seem to last.

Regards.

I use autoglym stuff which is a cream type of stuff. Its in a green bottle and it looks good, lasts ages on the tyres and the bottle also lasts a long time too :D

quality will check this out thanks!

The turtlewax tyre dressing is rubbish, I thought i'd try it.

It doesn't apply well... and in my experience didn't even last a day :(

AG tyre dresser (spray) is much better. I normally spray some on... and give the tyres a good rub around. Then srpay it on again, leave them to soak then lightly rub around the rim to get it even.

Oh forgot to say, i also got an applicator pad thingy from halfrauds, a special one for tires as its just the right width..... the tyre stuff still looks good after a week ;)

Car Plan tyre slik or Comma tyre black for me, both Auto express test winners

Megs Endurance is the best product I've used by tenfold!!

I'd have to say megs too.

Cool, might give that a go next time.

How do you guys apply it?

I'm happy if it lasts a week until wash time...

I use this,

Goes on white but when dries it leaves a cracking sheen not too shiny.

Then you probably haven't tried Zainos Z-16. ;)

I use the car plan stuff, it goes on well and lasts a long time. The gel based dressings are a pain to get on, i've tried a few and they are so messy it's not worth bothering sometimes.

A wax applicator sponge. Lasts a good while.

Another vote for Megs Endurance.

I cut up a scouring pad for doing the washing up, the yellow foam and green scourse top. Remove the green side then just cut the sponge with a pair of scissors.

Apply the gel and buff off, reapply if you want a shinier look.

Another vote for Megs, don't put it on too thick though without buffing off as it will spray onto your paintwork.

Megs Endurance here too. And I've tried pretty much everyone out there :)

I apply with a heavy duty applicator pad. Does the job

Not something I use at this time of year though, I must admit. Just not worth the effort in my mind. And have found in the past it's very good at picking up bits of grit and road debris :D

Another vote for Meguires Endurance here too , does a great job and smells like a fruit juice drink from my childhood....lol!!

I use Turtle wax tyre extreme on mine.

Doesn't look too bad to be honest on mine but on my sisters Micra the finish doesnt look as good cause the tyres aren't in as good shape.

I use the Megs stuff too after hearing about it on here. It lasts for ages and smells good enough to drink

i use the AG spray one, doesnt seem to last more than a couple of washes max.

I'll have to edit the prev comment of mine.

Tyre gel extreme on my sisters car has improved the tyres condition. The Pirellis on the front no longer look old and tatty but in better condition now.

I like it the black finish doesnt last long but it works well for me.
