17" Tyre recommendations?

Featured Replies

Nowthen,

I have 17" Cupra alloys on my VRS. I currently have Pirelli P zeros. My local garage is charging £100 a corner. What do people recommend as I heard these were quite soft?

Any suggestions, much appreciated.

I've got Falken 452's on 17" mk1 Octy's on my Fabia vRS and have no complaints. The ride comfort is outstanding and, so far (2.5K miles), I've had no bad experiences in wet or dry conditions - I don't push the limits mind you. Cost was £63.00 each fitted and balanced.

Another vote for the 452's. Mine now have just under 20k on them and still working as well as ever :D

Cheers guys,

Where did you get those from as they sound good an cheaper than the p0s.

I know alot of people recommend the Toyo Proxies T1-R's, now maybe its just me but I've had a pair of these spanked onto the front and I just cannot get to grips with them.

During the latter end of the Summer when I had them fitted I found they didnt give any real response or feedback when you where on the edge - they just seemed to go from underneath you, and now we are deep into the winter where the roads are all gritted and icy and crappy they are nothing short of god-awful. Every time I hit a roundabout at anything more then a snails pace I run a great chance of exiting it backwards.

I personally thought the Conti Sport Contacts I had when I got the car new where actually rather brilliant.

Unfortunately, Glasgow. Don't see why you couldn't get similar or better deal in your area though, as more often than not we usually have to pay a bit more for most things compared with major commercial centres in England. That's my experience anyway.

i have kumho ecstas, there pretty good for the money.

got two fronts 205/40/17 fitted for £116

Yep, Kumho Ecstas, they're good value. The car 'moves around' a little, but it seems to be predictable. I think I paid £240 for 4.

Falken 452 here too, although I'm debating putting one Verdestine Wintrack Xtreme.

im also looking for tyres at the mo was thinking of getting pirelli p zero nero's can get 4 for £283.20
