Marcus, do you have headlight washers? you should have 2 little colour coded plastic covers just under each headlamp.

If you have these, you have the washers and the associated low level warning in the washer fluid tank.

If you don't have these you don't have the washer system and no low level warning system.

On the vRS you will only have the washers if you opted for the xenon headlight system.

No, don't have headlight washers. So looks like no warning light then!

A bit dissappointed considering my last two cars, which cost considerably less had this feature.

Just need to get back into the habit of filling them up on a regular basis.

I have the retro maxi-dot (cheers Stu) and mine didn't warn.

Me neither (07 vRS - maxidot, no xenons). Funny this thread should come up this week, as I'd only just said to the mrs "this car seems to have a bottomless washer bottle", expecting to be warned before it was empty. (still on 1st bottle since i got the car!)

Found out in the fast lane of the M5, with a screen covered in crap, that you dont get a warning :(

disappointing, but i guess like you said, they've got to segregate the vw/audis somehow!

Its FECKING annoying, as im used to cars having at least a warning light...

No xenons = no warning.

Maxidot and no xenons = no warning.

Retro fit maxidot and no xenons = no warning.

mine does on maxidot, I am sure my mk2 vRS (non maxidot) did, but that had xenons so I can't vouch for a non xenon equiped car

just to add my current octy is a non xenon with maxidot and it most certainly DOES have a low level warning

Non xenon equipped cars with headlight washers (Elegance) will have a low level warning, if it has maxidot it will show an amber graphic at the top where the clock is, if there is no maxidot an amber light comes up on the dash.

The warning system is part and parcel of the of the headlight washer system.
