My wife pulled up in the car tonight , comes in and tells me that the drivers side side-light & rear light wont turn off , very strange i thought so off out i go to see what she was on about .

After about five minutes messing around with the key / light switch / indicator stalks the penny dropped

I'm with Jason was first thing that came to mind after reading the first few words. Yep well found. I found this out by accident on my Fabia as well shortly after I bought it.

If it was only the drivers side...it was the indicator on, it leaves the parking lights on for the side you are indicating on!...if that makes sense!

hes right you know, it is the indecator , side lights would be both sides, my old vento was the same so vag have been at it a while.:thumbup::cool:

Quite a few people have fallen for this!

This'll show my age :-(

My first car, a Ford Cortina 2000E had the same feature, so it's hardly a new feature. Damn good way to inadvertently flatten the battery. At least VAG put the bleep on to remind you it's on.

Happy Crimbo everyone.
