Hi All,

I noticed yesterday that the electric windows had switched and the left button controlled the right window and vice versa.

The window also felt a bit 'slow', and was not lowering smoothly - There was almost some stutter.

Today things are back to normal and the windows work fine.

However is this a problem? What do you think is likely to be causing this ?

No its not a problem, and seems to happen quiet a lot. Unlike traditional electric windows, the Fabia uses a computer to operate the windows, and like most computers it gets confused sometimes and operates the wrong one. Seems to be more common on the Fabia though, it affects all VAG cars.

What did people do - It happened again to me today which is very strange.

theres been a few threads about this, if you search you'll find the issue, from what i remember the box that contols the windows is fairly costly to replace.

So far this has happened to me just once in 2.5 years of ownership. It was about 9 months ago now and seemed very wierd at the time! So far, since that one journey it's behaved perfectly.

I occasionally plug into Vagcom and can confirm that no fault codes were logged from the incident.

Bizarrely this happened to my Fabia the day after reading this, or a very similar thread some time ago....most spooky i must admit....only did it on one occasion then and has only happened once since..i have a Fabia 1.9 elegance 02 reg......

am wondering whether i should read any more threads on here in case the same unlikely coincidence re occurs!!!!
