Light lens on door mirror.

Featured Replies

I have managed to break the clear lens for the indicator lamp under the driver's door mirror.:( (2006 Octy L&K). Does anybody know if I can buy this part separately or will the dealer want to replace the entire mirror and lamp unit?

I would have thought that you could remove the lens to change the bulbs but I can't work out how. The manual is no help as it does not mention changing these bulbs, just says that some bulbs can only be changed by a Skoda dealer.

Belated Merry Christmas to all Briskoda members! :santa2::frosty:

The underside part of the mirror is a whole unit, when I say underside I mean the clear plastic part and the plain black plastic part next to it, they are moulded together. The LED side repeater innards are included and IIRC the part is less than £20. Remove the painted mirror cover by pulling it upwards and the underside section is held to the mirror by 2 torx screws but you access them from the top. I can't remember whether you need to remove the mirror glass to get to one of the screws but I did when my old elegance took a whack.

The picture attached shows whats lurking under the cover. Ignore the extra arrows, this pic has been used for all sorts of mirror related threads!!

The LED repeater is sealed for life so isn't replaceable but the puddle lamp is, I changed mine for W5W LED's and it makes a big difference.

Thanks, that is really helpful. I will try pulling it apart tomorrow when the effects of the festive drinkies have worn off!

No problem, let me know if you need any more help/pics
