1.9 Diesel estate - which version?

A few things to consider:

the 110 (TDi) will give you about 10mpg more than a 130 (TDi) .

130 will give bettter mpg as it is more efficient ...like I said mine did 60mpg on a long run and 30mpg when towing....the 1.9 sdi I used to have didn't even come close to that.....and check the service book to see if it is on variable servicing

The official figures for the Octavia had the 110 better than the 130 by about 4mpg.

My 110 was very efficient and I'd have been surprised if it could have been beaten.

There is a big difference between the SDi and TDi

On a run i could coax 70 mpg out of my 110 (variable servicing).

The 110 is perfect for the Octavia, whereas the 130 gives you more power - my 110 was never lacking though!

More power does not always make the car more fuel efficient there comes a point where it tails off.

It is widely renowned that the 90 bhp struggles a bit so uses more fuel, the 110 is the most efficient and the 130 the most powerful.

You really need to test drive them all to see which is the best engine for YOU.

I was doing loads of motorway cruising (25k +) per annum, so there was only one choice for me, that was a 110 TDi with cruise control.

My parents have had the tdi and the tdi both of these do better mpg than my pd130 tdi even when they drive mine, its only by 5-6mpg though
