54 plate VRS creaking noise

Featured Replies

Hey guys

Had our fabia for 4 months now, cracking car (Black Magic '54 VRS), not done anything to it really, just Cupra splitter (she forbids anything else).

The trouble is, its making a rather strange creaking sound from around behind the clutch pedal area, or I imagine the back of the engine bay. It's intermittent, and usually worst when I let the clutch out to pull away in 1st, or when I go over speed bumps.

I've got fears of a loose engine/gearbox mount bolt or some kind of worn bush.

The car is still under warranty from Chatham Skoda so we'll give them a call after the holidays to get it looked at.

Any ideas...?

Cheers, Kev.

Like you say a worn bush ;)

Arb bush most probably.

The dealer should sort any problem for you!

OK, I'll give the dealer a ring in the new year.

If it's the bushes am I aswell to get them uprated with some decent replacements???

You can do but you will have to pay as the dealer won't do upgrade bushes.

If it's still in warranty I would let them look at it first ;)

If you we thinking of changing your ARB's then yes get the better bushes

The missus is just back from the dealer. Wishbone Bushes replaced under warranty, hopefully that's it all cleared up.
